<p>There have been weddings, family reunions, photography events, spending time with friends, and trips to Chicago.</p>
<p>This summer has been a fun one&#8230; but the blog has been neglected.</p>
<p><strong>So Has My Knitting&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>Unfortunately, with lots of things going on during the weekends and throughout the evenings, my knitting has been incredibly neglected. I&#8217;ve mainly been working on these two pairs of socks.</p>
<div id="attachment_861" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 300px">
	<a href="http://www.kristypage.net/home/kristypage/kristypage.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/DSC_0608.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-861" title="Summer of Socks" src="http://www.kristypage.net/home/kristypage/kristypage.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/DSC_0608-300x200.jpg" alt="Summer of Socks" width="300" height="200" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">It has become a summer of socks</p>
</div>
<p>The one on the right is the Glynis socks from Cookie A&#8217;s <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1596681098?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=itsnojublanwh-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1596681098">Sock Innovation</a><img style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=itsnojublanwh-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1596681098" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /> and the one on the left is the Slip Jig socks from March 2010 <a title="Blue Moon Fiber Arts" href="http://www.bluemoonfiberarts.com" target="_blank">Blue Moon Fiber Arts</a> Rockin&#8217; Sock Club.</p>
<p>I did finally break back into my spinning wheel this weekend and hope to continue motivation with the beautiful roving I&#8217;m spinning from <a title="Intention Yarns" href="http://intentionyarns.com/" target="_blank">Intention Yarns</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Spending My Days Behind the Camera&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>With winter over and everything in full bloom, I&#8217;ve been spending a number of days behind the camera, and I&#8217;m loving every minute of it! After purchasing my camera last summer and getting to know it through the winter I&#8217;ve been getting to spend a lot of time learning even more. There are a lot of shots that I&#8217;ve been pretty proud of this summer that I would&#8217;ve never gotten with a point and shoot.</p>
<div id="attachment_862" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 300px">
	<a href="http://www.kristypage.net/home/kristypage/kristypage.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/DSC_0598.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-862" title="Wrigley Sleeping in Her Chair" src="http://www.kristypage.net/home/kristypage/kristypage.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/DSC_0598-300x200.jpg" alt="Wrigley Sleeping in Her Chair" width="300" height="200" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">Wrigley sleeping in her chair</p>
</div>
<p>Even tonight, Wrigley curled up in &#8220;her&#8221; chair next to me while I worked on the blog and I snapped this shot. Flash and I are slowly becoming friends and over time I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll get the hang of it.</p>
<p><strong>Have no fear&#8230; I&#8217;ll be back&#8230; </strong></p>
<p>When summer ends and life comes back down to earth, I plan on getting more back into the blog. It&#8217;s been far too long.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>How has your summer been? Did anything exciting happen while I was gone?</strong></p>
<p><em>(oh, and in case you didn&#8217;t notice, I have a new theme)</em></p>

<p>I will not be afraid to say it&#8230; I wore my Obama shirt today and watched the historical day all day long. We welcome the new president of the United States. It was a great feeling to sit and watch and hear the promise of Change. He has a lot on his agenda and as we welcome for the next four years this amazing family as our &#8216;first family&#8217;. I&#8217;ll be the first to admit I was not a Bush fan&#8230; I was feeling like while he kept promising fixing other countries, he missed what was going on in ours&#8230; (yea i know terrorism, etc&#8230;) I feel like Obama has the promise that he&#8217;s going to be focusing on us&#8230; and cleaning up some of what is going on&#8230;</p>
<p>Okay I&#8217;m done with the politics&#8230; i promise, just had to share my quick opinion <img src='http://www.kristypage.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> Welcome to our new first family, who as we can see by the pictures will definitely have a lot of the spotlight over the next four years!</p>
<p>Knitting? Where did I make it on the blanket? Well&#8230; 23&#8221; was my final count for the weekend. I was hoping I had made it farther (I knit 6&#8221; (according to rows) and somehow it only grew 4&#8221;&#8230; hmmm) Photo below.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.theknittedgeek.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dscn1653.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-458" title="dscn1653" src="http://www.theknittedgeek.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dscn1653-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>I leave you with an adorable picture I saw from the AP from today&#8217;s inauguration&#8230; Take a guess whose REALLY in charge <img src='http://www.kristypage.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
