Welcome to the Official Webpage of 2000 Junior National Champion, Todd Thornton. Todd is a young up and coming gymnast, who the US is looking to, to help the USA Gymnastics Team win a medal in Athens. You may have heard the name around the 2000 Olympics. Although he didn't compete there, Todd Thornton is the "brother" of US Olympic Team Member, Sean Townsend. Todd has since made his own name in USA Gymnastics. Todd was named the first alternate for the 2001 World Team that placed second. Todd's 2002 year started off with a bang with a win over Olympian Paul Hamm at the 2002 Winter Cup. Todd continued onto Canada where he placed first and was part of a USA Sweep in the Jurassic Classic. 2003 was a rough season for Todd as he delt with things not only in the gym but at home. After a short break from the gym for some time spent with his family, Todd was back in form for the 2004 season. It was a year to remember in Todd's career when he qualifed to the 2004 Olympic Trials. Although he was not named as a member of the squad, that didn't bring down Todd's spirits. He has headed back to the gym and is continuing to train for the 2008 Olympic Games. Todd has recently made a switch and is now training at the Olympic Training Center.
