Basic Information:
I began diving at an outdoor pool with one of my gymnastics coaches and a few of my teammates. I learned the basics like how to hurdle and back jump with a few real dives, but after that year she finished coaching us and my best friend and I went to pursue, yet she later quit. I then began training at the University of Tennessee. I learned quickly because of my gymnastics background.
I later competed at my first meet at age 11 winning both 1 meter and 3 meter boards. The next year I had to stop coming to diving, but once a week, because of gymnastics which was, and still is, my favorite. I began to go downhill since I couldn't train that much, but I learned my dives back in the summer where I practiced 3-5 days a week. At the end of the summer my coach, Shannon, moved away to go live back home in Australia. I then moved up into Dave's group where my sister is, and now I am doing much better, learning new dives and sharpening them. this past year I competed in the Region IV Regionals and qualified for Nationals! I enjoy diving most because I have met so many people from all over and its just a great experience for me.
